Melissa Scott is on a mission to help you recognize your strength, live into your Truth, and have your most authentic life possible.
She’s a yoga teacher, counselor, writer, and life coach who believes everyone can be their best self. Her Core Strength Vinyasa classes develop deep core strength and focus on moving from center, both on and off the mat. She combines her knowledge of Western psychology and Eastern philosophy for classes that are creative, challenging, and deeply centering.
A passionate yoga student for fifteen years, with a background in dance and martial arts, Melissa uses her knowledge of the mind-body connection, energy dynamics, and deep core anatomy to move past fears to a deeper, more empowered place. In addition to teaching yoga and working with individual clients, she presents regularly on stress management, mind-body psychology, and sacred activism.
Melissa completed her 300-hour teacher training under Core Strength Vinyasa founder Sadie Nardini. She is one of five Master Teachers of the style in the United States. She travels the country teaching and training students in Core Strength Vinyasa Yoga.
She has been named Birmingham’s Best Yoga Instructor by Birmingham Magazine. Her first book, White Girl in Yoga Pants, came out in 2017.

Jasper Elliott Wolfe is the Founder and Co-Owner of the Conscious Body Healing Arts Center in Mountain Brook, Alabama. She has been practicing yoga since 2002 and teaching yoga in the Greater Birmingham area since 2006. She teaches Slow & Sacred Flow, a practice that emphasizes moving at a pace that is unique and authentic for the practitioner with a focus on feeling gratitude in each and every moment. Jasper uses pranayama, guided meditation, alignment and core based yoga cues, the wisdom of the chakra system, essential oils, and music to create an environment for healing. She is also the creator of many unique yoga class experiences, workshops, retreats, and programs to inspire a deeper connection to Spirit.
Jasper received yoga certification from GreenPath Yoga Studio in San Francisco, Ca. in 2006 under the guidance of Clayton Horton and David Lurrey in the style of Ashtanga, in the tradition of Pattabi Jois. She has since then studied with yoga teachers Seane Corn, Dharma Mitra, David Swenson, Rolf Gates, Melissa Scott, and Leslie Kaminoff. She has also participated several immersions in Conscious Activism and Social Justice with Off the Mat, Into the World and co-leads a Yoga in Action Intensive in Birmingham.
Jasper is a graduate of Birmingham School of Massage and received certifications in Deep Tissue, Neuromuscular Therapy, and Hot Stone Massage. She was also on the faculty of the Birmingham School of Massage as a teacher of Bodywork for several years; helping others on their path as massage therapy practitioners. Jasper is a Reiki, Ashiatsu, and Thai Yoga Practitioner and is on a continuous path of study in energy work and alternate healing therapies. In May of 2014 Jasper became a certified Laughter Yoga Teacher and co-founded Just Laugh Birmingham with Shannon Andrews Skipper.
